Thanks to this tour, you will have an almost complete overview of the riches of Battambang city. Your excursion into the countryside will immerse you directly in an authentic atmosphere with its traditional villages. You will then have the opportunity to taste traditional dishes such as bamboo sticky rice, and learn the art of making spring rolls, among others... Our guide will then take you into nature at the Ek Phrom temple and its history. This pre-Angkorian temple is situated on the left bank of the Sangker River. Nearby, you can admire the large white-stone sitting Buddha statue which leads to the modern Buddhist pagoda Ek Phnom. The site is renowned as a pilgrimage destination for Khmers during celebratory times. The pagoda also provides access to the ruins of the ancient Hindu temple. Next, embark on the famous bamboo train. In the 1990s, it was used to transport people, goods like rice, or livestock. Cambodians utilized it to travel from Pursat to O’dambang. Today, it serves solely as a tourist attraction and provides an excellent opportunity to preserve cultural heritage. Sampov Mountain will offer you a magnificent panorama of the Cambodian countryside. Inside the caves, you will learn more about the horrifying history of the Khmer Rouge (warning for sensitive souls). Finally, you can end the day beautifully at sunset where the bats will offer you a magnificent spectacle as millions of bats fly away from the caves. P.S.: Remember to wear good shoes!
